Froot Loops on sale at ShopRite...so I buy a box, what the heck! Mariella decided that they are too sweet and doesn't know why Ryan likes them! We get into an engaging conversation about what foods she likes that he doesn't and vice versa--Mariella loves ham, Ryan loves liverworst, Mariella loves ice cream, Ryan loves Swiss rolls. I add how I always used to like american cheese and Uncle Rob always liked swiss. Mariella says "well it's great that everyone is different. If everyone in the world were all the same we'd be boring and no one would know who we are."
Ryan was playing baseball with Mariella on Playstation and she was pitching and he was batting. All of a sudden he shouts out "This one's for my family!" and swings !!
Mariella's been emailing back and forth with grandma, reading and typing her own messages. She said the other day "Ugh, why don't they just put these letters (on the keyboard) in alphabetical order so kids know where the letters are!"
At picnic night on Friday night, the kids were excited to try Kid Cuisine--they saw it advertised on tv. As they were eating, Ryan said "Mommy, they should make Grown up Cuisine so you could eat it too!"
p.s. we watched the Little Rascals for picnic night, the old school black and white ones, a real throwback and the kids loved it. :)

The Observer
The kids and I were eating at the pizzeria the other day where lot of high school kids came in to eat. After a while, we got up to leave and Ryan looked over at a table full of girls and said loudly, "Mommy, those girls look like the BRATZ" !! sooo funny, they really did...hair all done up, make up, real fashionistas!!
Knock, Knock.
Who's there?
I love.
I love who?
I don't know, you tell me!

Toot toot!
This morning, I was walking the kids out to the truck and the garbage truck was going down the block so Mariella waved at them. The driver waved back and tooted his horn at her. She giggled and when she got in the car, she had a little smirk and said, "I think he thinks I'm marrying him! But he doesn't know I'm marrying Brad Paisley, he's a cowboy." So I start to just about pee in my pants and Ryan says, "He's not a cowboy, he's a cowgirl. Only I'm a cowboy!" I laughed so hard and it was a great way to start the day!
Mariella better get used to those little toots! Funny how she just gets it! And Mr. Ryan is the man!!
Happy Thursday!

tsk tsk tsk
I found this list of 'banished' words for 2008 very amusing...people actually compile a list of words that are now not 'in' to say! I'm sure plenty of us would love to add and/or subtract from the list. For me, not saying 'it is what it is' (even if in my head) is very difficult because it really is what it is!!!
I guess we do evolve and graduate to using bigger and 'better' terminology but I sure do miss those days of calling my brother Rob a SPAZ. And if you were cool, you'd write it with a funky 'S'...you know what I'm talking about! But a word that I use now, that I believe is timeless is DORK...and Rob, if you're reading this, you're a big dork! hee hee.
Enjoy the list, and if you have some of those 'back in the day' words, please share!
