Most of you know how big a Yankee fan Joe is, the apple doesn't fall far...he got Mariella and Ryan into watching baseball this past season. Mariella is now a die-hard Yankee fan crossing her fingers to get into the stadium next year. She knows the basic rules of the game, can read the score board off of the top of the tv screen, telling you who's playing, who's on base, how many outs there are, balls, strikes, etc. We've had many a fun time yelling and cheering the game on.
When the Yankees were eliminated from the playoffs this year, it was a hard pill to swallow for Mariella, she was taking it pretty hard and not wanting the season to end.
Well, good morning October 29th. Not a good day in Yankee baseball for most fans! Boston wins the world series and A-Rod is opting out of his contract and the new manager will be announced. Her response through tears held back at breakfast:
"A-Rod can't leave, he doesn't belong with another team, he belongs w/ us"
"Oh no, is Jeter going w/ him?!?"
"He can't do this"
"They should just give him an ice cream" HA HA....Joe loved that one when I told him and said to me "Yeah a 300 million dollar ice cream cone!"
And Ryan was listening to the whole thing kinda quiet and then said "Don't worry Mariella, we have Joba!"
That's right folks Joba Chamberlain...watch out now!
Long story short, I'm ditching Mariella's A-Rod shirt and getting new Joba ones to ease the hurt! :)
